WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Since our launch in 2007, Greater Salem Area Foundation has been working hard to support those in our community who fall upon hard times. We have provided housing, utility, and medical support, as well as other assistance.
The Foundation was developed as an opportunity to aid the citizens of our area in a variety of ways. It was formed in early 2007 by bridging the development of a civic club with a benevolent society. In addition to its ability to act as a budding legacy to its benefactors, it also serves as an ongoing opportunity to help those who are down on their luck or just need a helping hand during a rough time. The Salem Foundation is made up of many business and professional people living, working and dedicated to the Salem area.
Residents of the SCHS area are eligible to apply for financial assistance gifts, grants, or loans. Applications are reviewed by a volunteer board that meets weekly.
While there is always more that can be done to help those in need in our community, there’s no doubt that we are making a significant impact. See how you can become part of the difference.
